Any survivors for the voyage to Australia 1947/48.
This was a dreadful trip around Australia, riots, bashings, Captain and Chief assaulted by two seamen at Port Adelaide. This is recorded in the Adelaide daily newspaper I have never heard of or known such an event in my years at sea, Both men were charged fined ten pound and 7/6 costs. Both men deserted in Sydney. Crew riot in Sydney, third officer dived into harbour, police got him abourd and he attacked Chief Steward and Sparks while they tried to calm him. Sparks taken ashore for surgery to his eye as we lay at anchor by Pinchgut.
