Re: Elder Fyffes lost shipmates
Hi Frank, Haven't checked here for so long. Yes, I was on the Tilapa twice. The first time I was 4th Engineer promoted to 3rd Eng. Second time I was 2nd Engineer. Cant remember the dates but was around 1968 to 1971.

Re: Elder Fyffes lost shipmates
We joined more or less the same time, I was there 1964 to 1969 as apprentice and (later) uncert third mate.
Changuinola, Chicanoa, Tenadores, Chuscal (first apprentices in the cabin after Allan Moody and others went over the side), Matina (the old one!), Camito, Golfito, Turrialba. Didn't really want to leave but when I went for my second mate's they sent me my cards and I thought I was finished so I joined Esso. Turned out it was just normal process to send folks their cards when they went for tickets and I misinterpreted!
Worked out well enough in the end.
