According to the news, after the bomb went off on Sunday Iran sent rocket fire to the US base in Iran.
But prior to setting them off apparently warned the US of their intentions.
Said it was just to save face.

Most plots against Hitler were by Germans themselves . 1932, 1933, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, all had plots for assassination . The only British one I can find was an approach for permission by a lt.Col. Noel Mason McFarlane who was the Attaché at the Berlin Embassy during the period 36 to 39 but was never granted permission.
