Re: Aukus
The Israel PM said way back in 1996 that Iran was only weeks away from developing a nuclear bomb.
Obviously he uses a very slow calenda.
But the threat io nuclear warfare has for now eased in the middle east.
Will Iran seek peace, maybe but it may well be a piece of USA.
There are a lot from Iran living there!!!!!
Oil prices up, yes but not as a result of shortages rather from some oil companies using it as an excuse to raise a few more dollars.
Iran needs the oil money to survive and there are enough USA ships in the Gulf to see that all is kept well.

The old fatcats certainly like the odd war going on, keeps them in pocket money for a while anyway. I wouldn't even be surprised if the fatcats start them themselves.

Re: Aukus
#43 NATO stands for North Atlantic Treaty Organization which to anyone with a smattering of geography means what it says which leaves a helluva a lot of people and countries scratching their heads , our eminent P.M. must be one of them. And as usual will be now looking for excuses why he didn’t straight away back the USA as they did with Australia during the last war , his place in the queue will now be further behind even the French President. NATO I would suggest should consider changing its name to something like World Wide Nations of Peace, WWNP. I am sure a more appropriate name could be conjured out of thin air. Climate change being agreeable of course regarding the thin air. JS

Re: Aukus
Hi John
I have been trying to remember the name of the bloke who worked in the German Embassy before the war started , Something like Frazer, I think he was a Scotsman, told the British Govt he could assassinate Hitler, but was stopped by the little twit waving a piece of paper shouting Peace in our Time.

Re: Aukus
#46 There were quite a few Des it was a very precaurious profession at one time in Germany from 1932 to 1939 . Most plots against Hitler were by Germans themselves . 1932, 1933, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, all had plots for assassination . The only British one I can find was an approach for permission by a lt.Col. Noel Mason McFarlane who was the Attaché at the Berlin Embassy during the period 36 to 39 but was never granted permission. The present Hitler double in the Middle East who works under the premise of being a man of God, I would suggest the only holy thing about him are his socks and underpants if he has any. Cheers JS.
PS The little twit was Chamberlain another wasted space out of his depth.JS.

Re: Aukus
Well it would appear our Don has won again!!
A truce between the waring parties which according to the latest bit five minutes ago Iran has agreed to stop reprisals.
Not a yahoo may not be impressed as he wants to war where ever he can, but with the word from Donald he will have to stop,
Oil prices now down to about $67 US big fall from yesterday.
Air space now open again, looks as if there may be few days of peace for now.
Our PM spouts words of wisdom which very few listen to, hos speeches about the situation sound a bit low.

It is a long time since I was in Iran, but on one of my visits (several between 08 -12) there was a big issue with petrol, apparently in Iran at that time petrol was heavily subsidised and very cheap to buy, however they did not have the capacity to produce enough to meet the demand and could not afford to buy in, so they did a deal with India to swap crude oil for petrol. This calmed the situation which was apparently heading to civil unrest . Even then the people hated their religious extremist government but were too scared to do anything. Government informers were everywhere.
