Getting back to AUKUS and though Trump in one of his innumerous moments of self adoration declared he is reconsidering the pact, he would be a very foolish man to cancel the pact, as he needs all the friends he can get now, China and Russia are just waiting for him to make a major mistake (so far they have been minor, in world terms!) and they will take irreversible advantage of his blunder, and surely his military advisors cannot let that happen. As for his military parade, he needs to watch the precision of North Korea, the threat of a gulag makes you walk in a straight line

Keep getting these photographs on Yahoo or is Google of yet another RN Ship being floated out or a Submarine being rolled out. Then when you have a look at the date stamp on the photos some are over 10 or more years old. If we could produce the RN Vessels as fast as these photos are trying con idiots like me into thinking , wow nearly as fast as a Ford Car production line
I do wonder when the MOD will start pressing for the re introduction of national service.

Spotted another post on Yahoo, Pakistan are supposedly planning a Nuclear attack on Israel if Israel Nukes Iran.

    well so says this fella.

Mohsen Rezaei, a senior Iranian military commander and member of the national security council, has claimed that Pakistan has assured Iran it would respond with nuclear weapons if Israel uses nuclear missiles.

Well James I agree with you on this, Pakistan is the ****** in the woodpile, Netinyahoo and his war cabinet has done the same as Hitler, stuffed up on the point of getting what they want in Palestine, just like Hitler outside Moscow, now it looks like all or nothing, hope you have your shelter ready

That’s the next consequence Des any sign of using N weaponry will, get right up Indias nose they are already not big drinking buddies. I asked in a previous post what were the so called civilian casualties in WW 11 , have made a few Enquiries and if correct Russia headed the list with 25 million ? More than I suspect than all the belligerents armed forces put together and this was without the advanced weaponry of today. JS

I see in the news that our Donald and UK pm have agreed about AUKUS, why not we all need each other with the world the way it is now.
Plus there is money in it for USA.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

The USA rightly so are telling the NATO countries you need to spend more on defence, hard to argue against that. Seeing as the USA is the largest Arms producer and exporter in the world it is a win win for the economy of the USA.

Thankfully some NATO partners have upped their own Arms production and are making more use of home grown talent to do so. Poland have told the US they will not be buying any of the Appache Helo's as they want to develope Drones, UK are producing more of their own missiles with serveral UK based industries.
France is another country cutting back on US weapons, at least they do produce there own Planes and fighters how they stack up against teh US fighters ?? An F-35 fighter jet costs anywhere between $100 million to $400 million to purchase. The French Rafale $ 115 to $124 million.

Give the French one thing they do not bend the knee as easily as the UK does. But I suppose that ia how the Special relationship works

We had the TSR 2 which the US pressured the UK into cancelling production. That essentially killed off UK fighter development, just because the US thougght it would be a threat to their own arms industry.

BAC_TSR.2_XR219_Warton_11.06.66_edited-2.jpg was this a world beater?

I remember seeing the tsr2 in flight, it was built somewhere in the north west of England and was rightly claimed to capable of flying so low as to be under the radar coverage of any countries radar system, knicknamed it the hedge hopper, think it was cancelled by the wilson government.
