    Hi Rod.
I think it is endemic for people to compare eggs with eggs so to speak, I may write about the horror of school shooting n the US, but is that any different than the are$%# who shot a 10year old girl here who was visiting her mother, his girl friend? and dumped her in a barrel in the river. The world we knew has changed and we have to live with it, I hope that what I post on here does not offend anyone, even if my views are a bit different, difference is what makes the world turn.

    Does size matter

Back in the 1950's it was calculated that the total global population then would all fit on the Isle of Wight.
Might need a bigger island now!!
    Happy daze John in Oz.

#13 be thankful for French letters they even have a town called Condom, now I am not saying the French invented the Condom.
But come on the fella called Charles Goodyear, no way

My wife used to teach English in France, imagine her embarrassment when she was told that while discussing making Jam for instance perhaps she needed to find another word other than preservatives, her students started giggling. When she asked what was so funny it was explained that the French word for a condom is préservatif

One thing with the French, they never throw anything useful away.

It’s not just called that John that’s the actual Trade name , wonder why the original owner don’t sue as they have the copyright ? Unless of course they own the Australian version as well and serves two purposes to stick the first balloon together.

Many years ago if you were on a train on the west coast main line on entering Preston, there was a big sign saying, PRESTON, HOME OF THE DUREX.
Just thought I'd let you know that.

just remember if you want to alter a pencil written document, do not ask an American for a rubber, what you will get is a rubber item in a little packet, not an eraser.
