According to the Independent online, the UK is in for a severe cold spell and casts doubt if we can generate sufficient electricity to keep us safe during the spell.
It states that nuclear power stations are generating very little power as number are shutdown for various reasons.
Looking at National Grid website, the UK nuclear power stations can generate 6gw of power. At this moment the nuclear power stations are generating just under 4GW.
Wonder where these reporters get their info.

Dont know about your side , but i do know from Reports i get from my dear Sister in Cape Town that the Koeberg Nuclear Per Plant is certainly not generating enough to supply the Cape Area as before!
Over the past few Years there had been so much Shedding, with terrible results , and People all over the Cape were suffering.
However i have heard just recently there has been quite an improvement as far as output goes, and the Grid is now in a better position. Thank the Lord!

Well down here south of the Murray we have to rely on wind and solar and at the moment the wind is not blowing and it is cloudy.
Coal and gas fired power stations are slowly being closed as will many businesses if the state gov continues on this mad path.
    Happy daze John in Oz.
