    Hi everyone,
Why keep on and on about this seleçtion of rejects. Wait until one is selected and should it be Elizabeth Truss who becomes PM then you can all look forward to WW3.

Why,4/0 dear chap, would you prefer me to go on about the 'selection of rejects 'on your side of the fence? Regret there would not be enough bandwidth on site to cover it all...
One reason I ' keep on and on' as you put it is because any ex-pats out there with families back in Blighty-including Scotland and NI !-- have often said they like to know ,at an intelligent seaman level ,what's going on. It is also history in the making as in "We were there when it happened, in 2022"
Plus,as we know,it would be a disinterested and disinteresting bunch of dullard crew if current world affairs were never discussed round the messroom table, would it not.....Yakety Yak.gif.and we do have our lighter moments,as when I post those cartoons, even though they are perhaps taking the proverbial pee-pee out of my preferred political party!-oh don't you just love all that alliteration of the 'p' s !
    Cheers!

With the 2 combatants exchanging pleasentries with each other I am wondering who will be the first to come out with the likes of,
Over the next three weeks, the most powerful people in Britain and their supporters are going to tell you that everything I say is impossible.
But they know I mean what I say. They know I will deliver my plans. But the promises will come at a cost - and a pretty hefty one at that.
I will put British industry back on the map, bringing prosperity to every part of our country. I will give every community something to be proud of.

Ah!! politicians, I wonder when one of them will be daft enough to promise free High speed Broad Band for all. They will say and promise anything just to get elected.

The italics part of the post was borrowed from Mr Corbyn's 2019 manifesto , just a bit of fun, but have heard similar from him & her.

Not Political, I watched a programme last night about a pilot taking the biggest container ship up the Channel to Southampton, then across to Germany, I was surprised to learn that the whole crew were Russians. The channel wasn't a bit like my days as it was chock a Block with ships. The programme then went onto the Channel ferry's and the problem with keeping up the time scale, most of the crew were from overseas.
But the pilot was saying that if Britain didn't get back to manufacturing and making money, things are going to get desperate, as Britain now imports more than they export . They now have only 1% of world shipping. True or false.

Think I watched the same program Des , that North Sea pilot looked very familiar but couldn’t put a name to the face , looked like a mate I had on the supply boats in the North Sea . May come back to me, as that was nearly 40 years ago. If it was him he has aged very well. Did the program you watched as him mentioning it would take 7 miles to take the way off the ship. He never mentioned the quickest way of doing it was going through the telegraph speed from Full Ahead to half ahead to slow ahead to Dead slow ahead and stop giving a few minutes on each reduction , before coming astern if necessary , may do it in 6 miles then ? Cheers JS

    Hi Graham,
I am most surprised how my short unoffensive post not directed at any one individual personally on site has attracted you to write post # 283 which I enjoyed enjoyed reading.

    Regards from
    Fouro.

Reading an article the other day about people with low IQ and not able to manage.
Bit like reading about MP's in many ways.

But we have a magazine out here, 'The New Dawn'.

Well it looks as if it will make no difference who wins, there will soon be a global gov and Crypto currency will be all the world will use.
The people will become just drones for the multi billionaires to use as they wish.

Heard it all before, nothing new there.

But all new brooms sweep clean so watch out she may well be on a witches broom.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Just today hitting the headlines here in Oz , is accusations about the past PM here running 3 on 4 portfolios on his own authority. Whether legal or not I couldn’t care less ,what it does show however the unnecessary need for so many ministers on the gravy train. If one man can do four jobs , the saving of 3 other salary’s should go to a more worthy cause maybe. ? Apparently the Australian Governor General knew this as well most of his ministers didn’t . Maybe it’s time to lighten ship like the British Merchant Navy , JS
