Re: Where are the clowns?
A theory was put to me today by a guy born many years ago in Poland.
As he said he has seen the good and the bad in many countries.
His theory is this, so please do not shoot the messenger
The world is over populated due in many instances that medical science is finding ways to keep many alive after their use by date,
so to readjust the balance a Virus was developed in order to reduce the numbers needing medical assistance!!!
I told him he has a sick mind, but there is also the theory that if the medical profession had been left to deal with this rather than the polis it would have been sorted in a far better manner.

Re: Where are the clowns?
He’s probably saying what a lot of people are thinking , and until a proper and coherent explanation is put out to the world of how this disease was developed , so people will come out with their own theories , personally think it will be in 28 years time that being the usual period of 30 years for the release of info.to the public , so most of us will not be here to shout foul or fowl as the case may be. Re: Where are the clowns?
Well I have just watched the last PM's Question Time before the festive period to a packed House of Commons.
Poor Boris, damned if he does and damned if he doesn't-but I do hope those 99 MP's in his party who voted against him yesterday will not have cause to regret it......
I don't think so. There was a lot of fight in Boris and he used a couple of good apt slogans or jingles whatever you call them, particularly in reply to opposition leaders notably Sir Steer Calmer-as Cappy likes to call him!
I half expected the SNP leader in Westminster Ian Blackford in his speech to say "Merry Scottish Independence and a Happy Independent Hogmanay to You All !"
And where was Sir Ed Davey-leader of the LibDems.? I 'm telling you ,I think that party has died...
Boris bandied about two impertinent( but pertinent ) slogans: aimed at Labour:-
VACCINATE !-not Vaccilate ,and
JAB !-Not Jabber

Yes have to admit he is a good stand up comedian although don't think he will ever be as popular as Ken Dodd was.

A funny thing is, there is no news lately whatsoever about the Covid in China, maybe, just maybe, they're vaccine has worked, after all they may think the profit motive isn't as important as the peoples health.

Re: Where are the clowns?
Des, there was a small bit last night on SBS about it.
There are now a few places where the new variant is about, but not mush said about it.

Re: Where are the clowns?
The Tories are ruthless when they think they may lose their cushy jobs at the next election. The knives were sharpened and ready to plunge into Mad Maggie's back before the Argentinians came to her rescue by invading the Falklands.
King Clown's old music hall act is now now seen as passed its sell by date. The soundings are now been taken to find a more convincing liar.
How about another old Etonian who looks like he is appearing in a Jeeves and Wooster comedy? Ladies and gentlemen back by public demand a big hand for the one and only Jacob Rees-Mogg.

Re: Where are the clowns?
So many hindsight experts from every walk of life who could have done a better job than Boris and yet no one has put themselves forward. I am not saying our PM has done a perfect job, but would anyone have done better, facing an unknown pandemic almost immediately from taking office, I cannot think of anyone apart from Churchill or Thatcher, and that is not a political statement, it is a personality trait that was required to handle such situations. He is accused of letting the economy slide, every bluddy country in the world has seen its economy slide, even the most powerful economies in the world, and though they are still floating with their heads above water there will come a time their economic clothing (printing money) will drag them below the surface. Britain will weather the storm despite 99 stupid Tory MPs' voting against a little bit of legislation that required people to show a little bit of paper to protect people against other peoples lack of concern for their fellow men(other sexes are available!).
For gawds sake in the war we had identity cards, even joining the MN we had identity cards and finger prints of every digit on our hands, our hair and eye colour was recorded plus any distinquishing features,(luckily for some small dick was not included as a distinquishing mark) we were given vaccines in various ports around the world whether we wanted them or not.
There is not one person I can think of as an alternative to Boris at the beginning of this pandemic, of course there are thousands now, including on here, who could have done a much better job

Re: Where are the clowns?
Ivan your argument would seem credible if the lies and corruption were not added to the baggage.
Selling honours for donations, trying to keep a corrupt MP in his job, lying over the EU Brexit agreement, the journey made by his advisor to test his eyesight when lockdown was in place for the country, the Christmas parties he denied having taken place, insisting he did not know who had paid for his flat make over before a letter appeared showing him asking the donor asking for more money.
Now he can't bring in more restrictions if needed to fight the new Covid variant because his own MP's will vote against him. I don't think even you would describe this as a success story.
