I am booked on the Mariner of the Seas, Royal Carribean, for a 7 day cruise in Oct. Hope that the favourable comments are accurate.

On the QM2 at the Captain's Cocktail Party, the Staff Captain made a very strong point of telling everyone that the QM2 is an ocean liner, and NOT a cruise ship!

    Hi Ian,
We cruised on the Oceana last summer, likewise sailaway parties were good especially when we sailed out of Gibraltar. This year we tried the Queen Victoria, some ship, 90,000 tons of pure class, but no where near as friendly as the Oceana. The plus however was the voyage, we went round the Baltic, visited some 9 ports, with the highlight being St Petersburg......WOW!

    Default Cunard

    Hi Russ,

I have to agree about the Cunard ships, as I had a 4 night cruise on QM2 after my trip on Oceana. The ship is actually fantastic, with lots of good facilities but, as you said about the Victoria, nowhere near as friendly as the P&O ships.

    Hi Clancy,

Glad that you also enjoyed your trip on Oceana.

Hi Mate, Try the "Aurora" a P&O ship, we were on it for a 22 night trip to the Carribbean, lots of the passengers had been on it before and reckoned it was the best in the fleet and I must admit they where correct. I have been on Arcadia,Oceana and Aurora, the Aurora was easily the best, don't know why but it just felt right plus the tiered deck on the "**** end" was great, plenty of deck space and well sheltered.

I worked for two years with Airtours on a couple of their "cruise" ships. It was like Butlins.....hated every minute of it. I used to see the cargo ships and tankers in the Panama and think back to the good old days. Paid the morgage,so cant really complain.
