jim 1976 we could have had 800ft extra for £2000.000 but council never had the money funny thing though they found two million five hundred thousand for the dogs piss posts on Crosby beach? never looked at the big picture all the times I have been there I have never known anyone who came just to see the iron men?? jp

For 50 million they could have had the QE2 tied up alongside the Pier Head opposite the Cunard Building, where she was designed on the top floor, in a lagoon like the QUEEN MARY in Long Beach.
It would have created hundreds of jobs and a Massive Tourist attraction. Liverpool would have got the money back in no time.
It would have made A great Conference Centre, Hotel Accommodation, Offices, Wedding Chapel , ETC ETC...
now she is just covered in sand and rotting in the Gulf,
I was talking to Mike McCartney in 2008, and told him to ask his brother, Paul, WHO IS WORTH £1000, MILLION POUNDS, PEANUTS TO HIM , to buy it for Liverpool But No.

My son go's to Dubai on a regular basis he always gets the same hotel room where he can see the top of the QE2,one day he hopes to go aboard her.

There is just a skeleton crew on board . a fried went to go on a couple of years ago but he was not allowed, he said she was now looking a mess. and just rotting,
Hope he can get on board and let us know what she is like now.
