Re: Disney Cruise Ship For Liverpool.
Seems like the UK is becoming a popular cruise ship destination. Greenock is reporting more visiting ships this year and cruise visitors are set to be at all time high.

Re: Disney Cruise Ship For Liverpool.
When the whistle blows on the Disney ships, they used to play, "When You Wish Upon Star" I wonder if they still do that.

Re: Disney Cruise Ship For Liverpool.
That's about all they could do nowadays Brian. Would probably have trouble shooting it. That is if could find a place on one of these all covered bridges that had access to the heavens. Cheers JS

Every Character Walt Disney ever created had signed on, What a bloody crowd that was, One guy signed on looking like Robinson Caruso, No kit bag just what he stood up in, Another was about 9 foot tall with a hunch on his back, He painted every deck head aboard her no ladder needed, Two on deck i swear had never been aboard a ship in there lives, If you mentioned there watch they would raise there wrist to there face, Another we had on deck Spangles his name bent as an Arabs dagger, Ask him for an inside turn on the focsle he would take you by the hand and start dancing around on deck, As for the Bosun bloody nora you never saw sight of him, Him and the mate where very very good friends, Only ever saw him looking out of the mates window on the forepart, He spent more time in the window than Norman Bates,s Mother. The skipper i dont think ever surfaced for air, Drunk as a skunk for months, Maybe thats why i only ever done one tanker, Still i lived to tell the tale Terry.

Re: Disney Cruise Ship For Liverpool.
Same here, shouid have joined ESSO Terry, you would be laughing now, They Really looked after you, Everyone stayed there,
Best Wages, best food with wine twice a week on the messroom tables. Best accommodation. Best leave system, no long trips. a Big Pension at the end on early retirement. Everyone stayed for years. Best move I ever made in my whole life. Everyone knew each other as everyone was on a Company contract. No POOL men.
Cheers

Re: Disney Cruise Ship For Liverpool.
I sailed on 3 of Joe Shell's one after the other they were all different and the first Tankers that I had been on. I joined the first because it was sailing around the Baltic/Scandinavia, I had never been there so I fancied a look see. The second was working out of Curacao and running around the Carribbean, South and Central America, I had never been there so I fancied a look see. The third was working out of Singapore running initially to Vietnam but then all over South East and East Asia I had never been there so I fancied a look see. I can not remember much about the ships but the runs ashore WOW!! I would put up with a lot to do that all over again. Red Lead Ted I was an extremely naughty boy but had a charmed existence and got away with it.
I then went back to my pool and was offered an ESSO (Eat Sleep S**t and Overtime) Tanker which was working out of Venezuela ( Been there) So I decide to take a general cargo ship that is doing a P.S.N.C. charter down the whole Length of the west coast of South America. I had never been there so I fancied a look see. None of this would matter BUT Captain Kong every time you post how good you were treated by ESSO and how you are still reaping the benefits. I become envious, I sit here as a poor old impoverished mariner that literally feels I missed the BOAT. PLEASE PLEASE assuage my sense of guilt with my miss spent youth and tell me that you had a few snags like the air conditioning broke down or that the cornflakes had weevils in them or some such thing. So that when I go out to beg for a few pence to stoke the electric meter I will feel a little better with myself
