Peter Langford
Peter Langford
We have been advised that Oscar Peter Langforddied at the end of July. Peter joined the Shipping Company in the late 1940s.
For many years he was a member of the Crew Department at the Royal Albert Dock office and a familiar figure at signing-on and signing-off events where his energy and efficiency helped to overcome many procedural snags.
Peter was equally energetic as an all-round sportsman. He was frequently to be seen at the Maori Club at Worcester Park, especially as a member of the Dock Office Cricket team.
His home was in West Mersea, Essex. Peter is believed to have been about 90. He was a member of the Durham Association but not of the NZSCo Association.
Peter’s funeral is to be held at the Colchester Crematorium on the 18th August
