Spider Spinks
To all off the old Blue star guys out there it is with deep regret that I have to tell you that Spider passed away yesterday 15/5/11 .Spider was Bosun for years on the Fremantle Star and to all that remember him he wasnt complete without his White Owl cigar of which he seemed to have an endless supply .A good man was Spider and he will be missed by all his old shipmates.

Always sad to hear that another member of the family of the sea has crossed the bar. May he forever sail on calm seas with the sun on his back.

Happy daze John in Oz.

Re: Spider Spinks
It is a sad day for me to learn of the passing of Spider! I knew him for only a short time and he treated me like a Son. I was with him on the Hobart Star, He named me "Peanuts" and it stuck, at least while I was at sea. I shall never for get him. R.I.P Spider.
