Re: Gino Griffiths
John.
I got the same treatment from our local Optometrist, when I refused to have a small cataract removed for which I suspect she would have had a cut in, no pun intended. she told the police that I had to wear glasses to drive, and she said that next year she would fail me. so last year I went to a town about 90 miles away, and the bloke not only passed my eyesight but signed the papers there and then for this year and told me to come back next year and he would do the same. You could always appeal his lax treatment.

Re: Gino Griffiths
Sounds like a bit of bad luck on the Licence issue JS, one has to keep checking up on things of that nature!
Des you wee lucky to get a good Doctor, i too for quite a few Years did the same, as i had a nice Doctor in Penrith , a South African, need i say more! LOL
Anyway as a lot here know , i did get both my Eyes done not too long back, it was good easy and painless, and best of all entirely Free!
The difference in my sight since then has improved so much, and i am amazed at how i kept on Driving that long!
My Licence has also been changed from Wearing Glasses to No Glasses.
But must say that both the Optometrist and the Eye Surgeon, are both real Gentleman!
Had a few Weeks to adjust of course , but now Wallah!! Be Aware Lads ! LOL

Re: Gino Griffiths
Doc we filled the form in and done the medical last November and the doctor said he would send. My wife’s licence expired on the 6 january and mine expires next week on the 23rd . So I phoned the dept. up and they hadnot received . So phoned the receptionist and she had no knowledge , the Doctor then sent in a report to the dept. yesterday that he was waiting for a second opinion ? I have just been down to a doctor closer to home to change over my medical adviser , the present one is too far away without a car to get there. JS

Re: Gino Griffiths
Here in Victoria ten year licence only last until 75 then has to be 5 years.
But by some odd matter I still got a 10 year one when it should have been for 5, no complaints there.
John, get your self a scooter, with a helmet of course, no licence required or maybe open an Uber account and send it to your GP.

Happy daze John in Oz.

John.
If all else fails go for a I think it's a 50 kilometre licence, they will then access you and you could get a licence for going to the shops etc
