I was on the Custodian/GHKG for a fortnight summer of 1976, joined in Middlesborough dry dock, left in Tilbury. Force 8 on way, felt sick as I'd been ashore 3 months on an electronics course in Plymouth. The bar had an incredibly noisy draught beer cooler, for dc mains of course! Cabin was nice, all wood panelled, ship was built 1960 or 61. Think it's sister was the Tactician, had Stulken heavy lift derricks.

The Custodian, I served on that ship 2 or 3 times, along with the Craftsman and a few other T & J. It must have affected me as I haven't been back to Liverpool in 25 years!
