Hi Neil
I was on the GOOD HOPE CASTLE in 1959 and then took her to the breakers in Hong Kong , Then the New Good Hope came out after and later burned.
Jonathan Mercer was also a Cadet on the GOOD HOPE CASTLE [2] the trip she burned off Ascension Island
Jonathan Mercer is now the Master of the AMSTERDAM of Holland America, Line on the World Cruise at the moment I sailed with him several times on the World Cruises. and I think this is his final one before Retirement.
Nice fellow got on well with him.
