    Notes:

Was on first trip to sea when the Falklands kicked off, on the Scottish Lion. Then had a trip on the banana boat Edinburgh Universal. Then off down to the falklands for 2 back to back trips on the Scottish Eagle (sister ship to my first ship ). Paid off in tilbury when we brought her back to the UK for repairs. Then moved from co. to co. looking for regular work. Not in the right order but had a spell on one of Turnbull and Scotts mini bulkers, the fairmead, 6 months on the RFA stores/ammo ship the Resource. 7 weeks on one of Hoegh Ugland's car boats, the Autobahn, ending up on 3 of Shell's tankers, 320k tonner Lepeta, out in the gulf during the Iran/Iraq war, then the 180k tonner Northia and the 72k tonner Serenia. Came ashore in 86 as there were not many ships left, spent quite a long time on the pool, first in Grimsby, then Hull, then at the end when that closed down moved to the pool in south shields. Gave up on the industry and ended up in the fire service, still here 27 years later..

Note the Scottish Lion ,includes Brixham. Torbay
That Beautiful part of Devon. Torquay.Paignton etc.
Had a great time Torquay. Stayed at a Nice little Seamen's Club ,on the Pier.
Turn Left , to the Pier Ballroom. Swirling round .to the Ken Mackintosh, Big Band. Turn Right ,to "the Hole in the Wall" upstairs played. The Ivy Benson's All Girls Band. (A pub or two. lay between Venues)
On joining P&O's Strathnaver ,some five years later. Returning from Oz , Great!was surprised to learn ,we were calling in near Brixham. (reviving some happy memories), before arrival Tilbury. Found that 's where the Pratique ,Customs and Immigration boarded. Thus enabling a quick exit at Tilbury's Landing Stage.

The only thing we have left out of all you mentioned is the 'Hole in the Wall' There hasn't been a dance in the Pavilion for nigh on thirty years, and has been closed for eight years and falling into disrepair, the night club up the hill is now a penguin enclosure, top name artists have been replaced by third rate wannabees, very few places to dance
