Re: Alfie Lees
You must've started something new Alfie doing your own collection I only ever recall the crockery man doing it for the plates/silver when I was there.I suppose doing it yourself you had more chance of getting a few bob because they couldn't refuse you (some did) where they could refuse the crockery man.How many of us were there in the share-out 8.The first time I was on the Britain in the plate house I'm sure both sides took plates and silver, the silver room was an easy touch as against the platehouse.I ended up with a good little job there I was the "putting out man"delivering the plates in the creels do the different corners in the galley. What was this Smiths guys job.?

Re: Alfie Lees
Hi Alfie I don't remember the collection coming to much especially when it was shared out it wasn't worth having it certainly wouldn't give you a night out in the house of scouse, that's when the crockery man took it of course.Just come back from the hospital and had a pint in Wetherspoons in the Strand,is that the one you drink in.It must be about the worst place in Bootle for getting served a guy in front of me couldn't make his mind up whether he wanted mushy peas or fresh garden peas with his meal.I normally go next door to Yates's.
