Notes: I enjoyed my time at sea and sailed with some great shipmates.
Came ashore to get married and get a shore job, after a couple of odd jobs with no prospects I joined the London Fire Brigade and served a 30 year career which I enjoyed.
Retired to North Devon and did a self-build of our own house.
We are still happily married after over 56 years
Have had a good life and have enjoyed all of it.
