Ivor's books/logs start on 16/12/1946 with a stamp from the National Training Schools Gravesend London.

A great line up of Ships he had some good Sea Service!
A sad loss I know,but we must one day all go!
May his sails now take him to places he so well once knew!
The Sea will take care of him!
I note he was on the Warwick Castle,i too served on that Ship a few Years after though! Also in Catering Dept! as Asst Steward.

Sure are Cappy.
Thanks Wendy. Mick was born 2 days before my wife in Sydney (although with Liverpool, England time it might have been only one day). He joined the Merchant Navy within 2 months of me - Newcastle, NSW, Australia late January, 1947. My discharge book number would have been closer than anyone else on this site if I had been in Britain.
