Left the sea in 1979/80 to work with GEGB, transferred to nuclear side of the business, retrained as nuclear operations eng and ended up as Shift Charge Engineer at Sizewell. Also acted as technical expert for EU in North West Russia. Got fed up and resigned and now live and work on a farm high up in the Andes in Argentina. And extremely happy too!
