Hi Ted,
Idid three trips on the Strathnaver,two as bell boy then got my rating as A/S,dates 28/5/56 to15/3/57.

Iwas twice on the Orion,first time as Plate Washer, 25/6/57 until3/11/57.

Second time round was from26/6/58 until 21/12/58.

hi- I was on the Orion from December '61 until March '62 and paid off in Tilbury ( broke) I was a bedroom steward looking after a load of Greek & Italian women and kids going to Oz. During the voyage i was logged and disrated to utility steward, being accused of being found with a female passenger after hours. I had been fitted up. the passenger put my name forward as evidence, but really, who would give their real name in such a situation!! It must have been someone who knew me well, hope it wasn't you Ted!!
