    ! was on the Generton sept 53 todec.trip to B B ,Rosario,Diamante one port in belgium and paid off in Newport.Captain peacock and chief officer (looks like)Hamblin.Iwas on watch with 2nd or third mate(its 60 years ago) who was an extremely accomplished farter.
    Have a chapter in my book on the trip which I think I poster on the chapman forum

    Bill were you on the Geneton early 54 down the Plate. If so you will know Charlie Briggs who was also an app. then on her. I was on the Avonmoor at the same time in B.A. The Avonmoor was an old 3 Cyl. Doxford built on the lines of an Empire Boat in 1942. I thought we had it tough but on a visit to the Geneton we were in luxury, at least we had a closed in wheelhouse, believe yours was open if remember correctly. I did all my tickets with Charlie Briggs (believe he lived in Sunderland) I did hear he finished up as Harbour master at Blyth, do you know if this was correct? Times certainly have changed over the years sometimes not for the better. Cheers John Sabourn.
