John the BC Coroner was on the news this morning.He was on his way to Tofino.
Said exactly what you have indicated.
Will needs DNA samples, dental etc.
Could be a while before we know the identity of the remains.
As far as I am aware, there is no other person reported missing in that area, so I would bet on it being the Australian.
The cold water may have helped preserve the body, but lots of crabs and such around on our west coast.
Lets hope this brings closure to his family.

Just a follow up to the whale watching disaster.One of the surviving tourists from Calgary Alberta, is having a skate boarding park built in Tofino.
He says he wants to give something back to the community for all they did during that difficult time.
As some of us know. Tofino is a small fishing/tourist town. It does not have much to offer in the way of recreation, particularly for the young.
It's a nice gesture.
