G'day John, Yes Jeans west are still around sometimes even next to Target. You can check out Jeans west and then walk across to target and get the same deal for half the price. I have already posted somewhere on this thread about how much we loved our Wranglers and we did they were the best, but now I am a dinky di OZ My wife lashed out and bought me a pair of RM Williams boot leg jeans to go with my RM Williams boots, Mate you could retire on what they cost BUT they are made in Australia. Trouble is they seem to have shrunk must have washed them to much. Time and Tide.

Going back to the 1950s I was on "Athel King" On the East coast of the US-Venezuela run. Galley boy. In Portland, Maine the local store owner came aboard with his wares. Wrangler jeans amongst them. Was dying to get a pair but US dollar price more than I could afford.

Re: Before Designer Jeans there was -
I've just been posting about this on Facebook, Trevor. Never tried the belt loops method. I'm pretty sure I just tied a heaving line round them and trailed them off the stern. I still sometimes daydream about wearing sea-faded Wranglers and a T-shirt with my knife and spike slung low at the hip. Never could get a tan though and am now suffering for the long term effects of my efforts. Happy days though. :-)
