Hi Cookie,
I did the Max Wilson cruisers on the Britain,he was South African if I remember rightly he called it Pied Piper Cruisers. He wanted to bring cruising to the working man making cruising affordable to everyone.
CPR were glad he came along because the Western Ocean trade was just about on its last legs.
I did the first cruise it was a disaster for the passengers,1st port La Carunna Good Friday everywhere was closed 2nd port(in Spain cant remember name) Sunday samething nowhere open.Spain was not commercialised then as it is now. Next and only other port Tangier.the passengers had a meeting and complained regardig the itinerary so Max decided to give them a run ashore at Monte Carlo.
the last cruise I did I think was Palma,Ajaccio and Lisbon. The day we docked in Liverpool President
JFK was assinated.
