    Hi Steve,
My name is Mick Gray and I was App on the La Cordillera in 1960. Was the Old Man a Captain Hughes? I think he left the Cordilera for her.

    Default Re- La Estancia.

    Good Morning Bob,
I have just joined this Website. I did the last trip on the La Estancia as EDH, We joined
her in Avonmouth we then went up the Great Lakes to load for the Far East, back to Dakar-Senegal,
Then to Capetown to load grain for China, On to Western Aussie, Bunbury,& Albany and loaded grain for
Hamburg. I think the trip was about 9/ 10 Months, I think she was sold to the Bulgarians then when we
    paid off.
We must have both been on that ship at the same time, Some good runs ashore,Not a bad trip.
What did you sail as Bob? I dont that you were on deck, It is a long time ago.
I was also on the La Colina and Sierra, Buries was not a bad outfit as far as tramping companies go
and I was in a few.
I am just doing the odd relieving jobs at present through Clydemarine agency on
mainly trailer suction Dredgers, The last job was about 2 months ago down in Lisbon on the UKD
    BLUEFIN.
Anyway Bob, keep in touch .
    My Regards,
    Mick Filbee.

Then down to Capetown loaded grain for China, On to Western Aussie, Bunbury,& Albany and loaded

G'day malcolm and welcome. If you have a list of your ships and maybe some dates why not list them on site. That way you may well get to haer from some who knew you then. So sit back with a cold one and enjoy the voyage.
    Happy daze John in Oz.
