My Sea Time
Hi there,I left the PWSTS in 71 then went to the British Star laid up in Falmouth along side the British Industry.First trip in 72 was :-
British Mallard June 72-Oct 72
British Argosy Nov 72-Apr 73
British Lancer May 73-July 73
British Commerce Jan 74-mar 74
South Kent Colledge for City & Guilds,part of BP's training for Marine Mechanic's
British Merlin Dec 74-Apr 75
British Curlew Jun 75-Dec 75
British Poplar May 76-July 76
Made redundant in 76 then I joined Cayzer Irvine in 77 & sailed on :-
King Charles Feb 77-June 77
King George July 77-Aug 77 (Laid up at the Isle of Bute)
King James Nov 77-Mar 78
Table Bay July 78-Mar 79
Barcelona (Table Bay renamed) Mar 79-Aug 79
King William Oct 79-Jan 80
I then left in 1980 & joined Townsend Car Ferries,My main ship was the Spirit of Free Enterprise but sailed on a couple of others only as relief.I then left the ferries ( should say asked to leave) in 1988 after the Seaman's Strike.

HI Eddie, very nice list of ships, I was on the Commerce 1968, first trip deep sea Christmas in the gulf also on the patrol ,hawthorn, merlin, The B.P. tankers were great ships allways good food and good crews.
