My first ship was M.V Catalina Star which I sailed on as Deck Boy from 30/6/1962 to 24/10/1962. Is there anybody out there ???

This was originally"Empire Haig" then, "Fremantle Star". I was Cadet on there,got terrible 'flu in L/Pool, seem to remember I spent most of the trip cleaning hatches. The Electrician was a total alky,sent home with DTs after trying to fix 500V d.C. winches with the shakes. Happy Days...

i joined her in the august of 1961.where i was the galley boy
one morning i was out on deck peeling potatoes,when i felt a sharp pain in
my side,i woke up in the seamans hospital at greenwich with an appendix problem
i was in the hospital long enough to see the ship sail down the river past the
hospital.she had just left the surrey docks.
so i never sailed on this ship and i still have my appendix
