I first joined BSL in Dec 1955 and sailed on the Tasmania, Scottish,Auckland,Ulster and Wellington star. and it seemed to me that once you left a ship the chances of meeting up and sailing with some of the same crew were slim and I put this down to the fact that the MN in those days was a vast industry, I am sure it was not the after shave I used' Since coming ashore I have found and keep in contact with just 2 old shipmates from my BSL days, George KINCH, now living in Timaru NZ and Mike GILMORE now living in Nimes, France.
Not a great record for someone going to sea in 1952 and after a few years on the Kiwi coast swallowing the anchor in 1968. you never know someone may contact me from this thread
