mike i was on the demodocus in 72/3 ijoined in londons royal docks after an ab broke his leg i was the only southerner on deck but what a god bunch of lads they all were ,mostly scousers or birkenheaders, and we had a great time when i joined it was the Glenroy but we changed name to demodocus in hong kong and quickly the locals painted the funnel blue in alfred holts colours .Some of the names were freddie slack his mate jimmy ??? dubie the deck boy .I missed the ship in kaoashiong along with a boy called chris gaunt we were flown to singapore after giving up after 4 days, later the agent would not give us a sub so we realised that the captain had paid us off with a D.R for conduct so we blackmailed him to give us a fiver each or we would nott sign back on he agreed and we went to the norwegian consulate and i got a job and sailed out on a norseki called thejohs stove ,havnt seen or heard of chris since she was a real work up on deck

Demodocus
Hi Peter, No Dan Corlett was not there, but the trip you mentioned (Suez) I had the same experience on the" Neleus", Extended our voyage to 6 months, we took a real pounding in the Bay of Biscay a white knuckle ride as they say. Tom
