#16... Dennis try and look up or someone on site may remember how many points the old method of finding the centre. " Face the wind and the centre of the storm is so many points ? on your starboard bow" in the Northern Hemisphere, and the reverse procedure in the Southern Hemisphere. Lets know if it does really work?. Either that or batten down and wait for it to pass hopefully not through the centre. If do go through the centre and depending on how big you will get reciprocal winds ( 180 degrees) within minutes. Or to play it safe get into your Nuclear shelter if you have one in rememberance of the 1962 blockade of Cuba. She"ll be right mate. Cheers JS

Hi John. Just back on line, so didn't get your advice until now.
Modem has been out for three days.
Although the typhoon was not as bad as expected. Lost the odd tree, and flooded basement.
All my preparation was really for nought.
However, being an old boy scout I remembered to 'be prepared'.
Happy to have my internet back. Lost without it.
