    Hi Stephan
    He either payed off the Empire Haig in Sydney or jumped ship, then joined, or was put on the Sutherland to take him home, being there are no discharge details hard to guess why he was paid off in Sydney , there again he could have been taken ill.

    Interesting. He didn’t get discharged until middle of 1946, he was in Italy. Don’t know how or why.
