    Default Thomas Anderson Grieve

Does anyone have any information about Thomas Anderson Grieve, born in Dundee Scotland in 1920. He was a member of the crew of the tanker Thelidomus which made several trips from Central America to New York / New Jersey in 1950. Grieve later joined the Canadian Merchant Navy at Toronto in 1952. He may have previously been in the South African merchant navy; and it is the South African period for which we are particularly seeking information. Any info would be very much appreciated.

I don't have any direct info on Thomas Anderson Grieve, but I know a lot of sailors back then would move between different navies, so it’s worth checking out both the Canadian and South African merchant navy records. When I was looking up family history, I found that specialized forums and maritime history groups can sometimes have random but useful info that’s not easily found elsewhere. If you're interested in his South African service, there might also be old crew rosters or shipping company records that could help. Best of luck with your search!
