Re: Knot-tying
#39.. As you know blind people are usually very perceptive in their hearing so the young fellah is being promoted straight away to the sonar dept. where it is hoped he can make contact with any whales on their journeys , he is therefore taking a cramming course in the Welsh language , but at the moment is having trouble in pronouncing that long word of that railway station they have. Doesn’t really matter though as have heard whales prefer to travel by water. I do hear that whales also like fisherman’s friends , so do sharks . Make sure you get 8 consecutive hours off between shifts as the submarine owner is kicking up about the loss of sleep claims , especially yours . I don’t want to get accused of flogging the books .Will check the hot water bottle again for leakages . Cheers JS.

hi john sabourn #41
well sonar, this is where the cadet may excel, i believe speaking welsh may benifit him/her/that/whatever, for possibly the word Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogeryehwyrndrobwllllantysilio gogogoch may confuse the enemy if they where ever captured and tortured as the enemy would never believe a word that is said.but as said the whale watching will keep them busy.
but i once had a girlfriend who could repeat the long word, but only after chewing a fishermens friend and i couldnt understand a word she was saying.as her mouth was always full.

Re: Knot-tying
Don’t think I”ll bother fixing the hot water bottle , already got the maxinum loss of sleep hours . Think you left your head piece behind last night a dead ginger Tom. Part off it’s tail was missing and one of the wee silly Winkie brushes you and Cappy are trying to market was put in its place , however a black tail on a ginger cat doesn’t look quiet right. Thought the price tag stuck on it was a bit high at 3/9d,.how much is Cappy charging for his shares in company now ? Cheers where’s my hot water bottle the one that’s not leaking Good night. JS.

hi john sabourn #43
send me whats left of the moggie back, dont worry about the tail, i will re-furbish it as im loosing enough of my own thatch so i could double up with whats left of the moggie, keep the wee willie winkie brush you may get a earner from them crazy swimmers, As for cappy im sorry i got involved with him, hes not satisfied with earning a crust he always wants to go one better, he is trying to raise capital on the venture markets, and has gone over to china to see if he can get the manufacture of the wee willie brush cheaper than uk manufactures.never trust a man who treated his donkey the way he did.

Re: Knot-tying
I have a copy of Browns Practical Pocket Book, looks like the owner must have had it in a lifeboat, the way it is salt stained. He must have been a singing seamen as there is a small sheets of how to read music, probably while rowing.

Cockney was the norm for us also Polari. A code talker was a person employed by the military during wartime to use a little-known language as a means of secret communication. The term is now usually associated with United States service members during the world wars who used their knowledge of Native American languages as a basis to transmit coded messages.

Literally translated, the long form of the Welsh name means: "[The] church of [Saint.] Mary (Llanfair) [of the] pool (pwll) of the white hazels (gwyn gyll) near [lit. "over against"] (go ger) the fierce whirlpool (y chwyrn drobwll) [and] the church of [St.] Tysilio (Llantysilio) of the red cave (-ogo[f] goch)". Various elements have occasionally been translated differently, for example "the white pool among the hazel trees"[23] or "the cave of St Tysilio the Red".[
We just say Llanfair PG for short - Llanfairpwll or Llanfair P. G. noun. a village in NW Wales, in SE Anglesey: reputed to be the longest place name in Great Britain when unabbreviated; means: St Mary's Church in the hollow of the white hazel near the rapid whirlpool of Llandysilio of the red cave.

Re: Knot-tying
Well Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers, while she sell sea shells by the sea shore, and little jack Horner sat in the corner picking his nose and eating it, while little Johnny sat opposite him just beating it.
And if you go down in the wood today you may see Cappy with his chain saw, got to make a new peg, he lefty his heart in Sanfransico, and his little wooden leg hanging on a peg somewhere in Dublin zoo.
