Found this in my dad's paperwork when sorting out estate - MV England Currie Line
Morning everyone,
First time post here and like lots of others hopefully looking for some information.
My dad recently passed away with dementia and when clearing out estate we've found this boarding card? for the port of Genoa - dated 1967 we think for the M.V England. Dad never really talked much about the merchant navy - but I'd love to find out anything I can about the ship and its crew. Is there any places to find out details using the details we have?

Hi Marian,
His name was Fraser john clark finlay but he was known as clark finlay. His date of birth was 12 july 1942 and he was from linlithgow. He worked currie line med? and then on ships from leith to Orkney. I've some photos of san fransisco and okanawa? from one of the trips in 60s but no other details. Also have a couple pics of people on board but none of dad as he was behind camera.

I did a trip on the mv England. Loaded China clay in Fowey for Italy. Messy stuff. About six weeks around the Med. Can't recall a ' Nobby' Clarke, but then I don't remember what I had for breakfast.

Re: Found this in my dad's paperwork when sorting out estate - MV England Currie Line
Hi Marian, thats his granddad. It gets confusing as his dad and grand dad were all called fraser - talk about originality.
My dad never talked much about himself - was very much the quiet wee man in the corner that just got on with stuff. However i did find out that after leaving northern ferries? He worked tennants fitting out pubs - and was fired as fitted out the ferry with a beer tap and keg or two for crew.
Just wondered if there was any way of finding out if had been on any other ships - echo comments in other posts says thanks so much for any help.
