A no picture quiz
A bit of trivia the answer to which you can use next time in the pub.
How many merchant ship types did you sail on?

Re: A no picture quiz
Liqourice Allsorts , Of the 80 or so would have to itemise them individually. Although seems a lot there are still many flavours have not tried. Would need another at least 2 lifetimes to see the end in the far distance. Today however one is put in a box and told you are specialized in this type of vessel. Which is to me totally the wrong attitude. A seaman should be able to walk on most ships and pick up the threads. If is too complicated should be put under the care of one of the so called specialists until he did know. I was thrown in the deep end on tankers , ships I dont particular care for, but made the grade with the help of certain people there. I jumped into the offshore industry and hit a bad reception on one ship , where the mate said to me Im not telling you anything as your only here to take my job off me. I said keep your job. Walked around the quay to another shipowner , got a job, went back and packed my bags and left. Today you cant do this Why ? there are no ships and seamen are all more like that one terrified of losing his job, so what were once independent strong minded people with their own morals , today are more like fawning children looking up to try and be friends with the office boy. God I"m pleased Im retired and made 65.

Re: A no picture quiz
No correct answers to date. Maybe asking for ship TYPES as as bit of a trick question, so no budding naval architects amongst us then.
