Re: Shipworth - What was / does this mean?
Shipsworth, Something in the back of my mind is telling me that it is nothing to do with the cost of a ship. it's a word meant for something else on board a ship some term used maybe in the old sailing days, maybe, " no its a ships worth," about the cargo maybe.

Re: Shipworth - What was / does this mean?
It will have to be at least 50 years old then Des. Even the old dictionaries gave the correct definition of a ship as a 3 or 4 masted vessel square rigged on at least 3. Today no such definition only a water born vessel usually carrying cargo or something similar . Maybe why the media is so stupid at times or should maybe say at most times. Cheers JS.

Hi John.
I don't know but I seem to hear something like someone saying, Na; that would be at least a ships worth, similar to Na; that would be at least a shillings worth.

Re: Shipworth - What was / does this mean?
Could have been Pennyworth Des ? Was on a ship called that. Put a deck store order in one time with 5 gallon of white gloss on , down comes the deck supt. Wanting to know why I wanted when I said to paint the bridge front it was grudgingly passed. Suppose he had to justify his existence. Cheers JS.
