Mystery knife
Whilst I have been confined to my house due to the effects of smoke from our burning moors, I was rooting through some of my `gear`.
I have found a knife, all stainless steel, on the blade is engraved.......
THE UNITED STEAMSHIP COMPANY. COPENHAGEN. and on the handle is engraved a picture of a ship.
on the other side of the blade is engraved.......DET FORANEDE DAMPSKIDS-SELSKAB, ARTIE SELSKAB
I have never ever been on a Danish ship, or even seen one of this Company`s ships.
So I have no idea where it has come from.
or how long it has been in my possession.

Re: Mystery knife
Just some info, hope it is of help.
K.
In 1866 several small Danish shipping companies merged to form what has come to be the oldest major shipping company in Denmark: DFDS - "Det Forenede Dampskibs-Selskab" (The United Steamship Company).

Re: Mystery knife
Well Brian I do remember after a few weeks on the coast the articles found around the engine room that nobody claimed to know anything about were committed to Neptune and some took three bodies to get them on deck.

Re: Mystery knife
That`s it Cappy. from that mad woman from the Guest House, she must have handed it to me when she was swinging from the nail by her knicker elastic so I could cut her down from the back gate of the Victoria pub in North Shields.
Thanks, another memory
