Andrew Arthur Childs, SS Orange Prince
Andrew Arthur Childs, SS Orange Prince (Newcastle)
I am hoping that someone will be able to help with the above.
I can tell you that he was a Donkeyman and was killed 15/11/1915 (aged 31) from the explosion from an enemy torpedo attack.
Born: Fareham, Hampshire
Commemorated: Tower Hill Memorial, London
Son of The Late William Stephen and Harriet Childs of 4 High Street, Southwick, Fareham, Hampshire
What I would like to know is when, where and on what date he enlisted, along with his service number.
Many thanks!

Re: Andrew Arthur Childs, SS Orange Prince
From what i can ,ake out of an old Crew list from Orange Prince but they dont show his Discharge Number.
This shows his previous Ship as well the Indora Rating as Fireman and Trimmer and Port of Departure ,also Wage!

Re: Andrew Arthur Childs, SS Orange Prince
I am not 100% sure to that Steve but according to the Record Section as shown quite possibly Yes!
Best way is to get hold of them at Soton and ask the question!
Best of Luck
Cheers
