    Few ships in the Sixties & Seventies were as popular asthe Oceanic and her weekly NY-Nassau cruises. In 1968, shehad a 98.5% occupancy factor.

    those were the days were passenger ships looked like ships as well...not like bloody pigeon lofts

    This is what i call a ship, And what i enjoyed working her deck, Todays Seaman wouldn't know how to lower the gang way let alone work her decks Terry.

    Terry if you go to Singapore and Hong Kong you'll still see hundreds of them serving hundreds of ports with no container facilities. There are in excess of 50,000 merchant vessels plying the world's seas manned by over 1.5 million seamen

    #####joined the trewellardin liverpool galley boy ...coal burning galley up the gulf ...down to walleroo skinned out ..on the run got caught ...28 days hard labour HMP adelaide .....a proper ship to a proper nick .....no bloody pool or games in that place ......the trewellard was built as the harpalyce in 1944......she was one old banger every few days a big bang down below and smoke rings like circus rings up and away ...but memories i wouldnt be without ...cappy..ps theres a bloke trying to sell tea shirts on the site ...already bloody got mine lol cappy

    ##never could understand why they sent me from shields to liverpool unless all the scouse gallley boys would back out of her ....ps we lost the apprentice over the wall for hours but somehow picked him up thought he was dead ..but he came around ok after a day or two
