QUEEN MARY, SYLVANIA and LEONARDO DA VINCI docked NYC.jpg
Met a man today who worked for Cunard in the Sixties, mostly on the Sylvania. That ship was then running the Liverpool-Cobh-New York service. He noted with a smile, "There was a certain something to work for Cunard in those days. We felt they were a cut above the others, the other British shipping lines."
Photo: The Sylvania is at the bottom of this view at New York dated 1965. The beautiful Leonardo da Vinci is at the top; the classic Queen Mary in the center.
