It has been sixty years since the beautiful Italian liner Andrea Doria went to the bottom of the western Atlantic on July 26th 1956. The night before, she had been mortally wounded in a collision with the Swedish liner Stockholm.

A commemorative event will be held on Saturday, July 30th at the New York State Maritime Academy at Fort Schuyler, New York. It all begins at 10:00am in the Academy's Boat House.
