Hot Air Balloons
Awile ago i mentioned about the trips on the canals in the UK that my wife had when we was visisting our daughter .Well this time its about my flight in a hot air balloon .We was on one of our many trips to Alice Springs visisting two of our daughters who live there .My son in law said to me how about a flight in a hot air balloon i said ok .So the two of us took off the only thing that i did not like we had to get out at 3.30am in morning were we was picked up and taken a few miles out into the desert and boy was it bloody cold it would have froze the nuts off a tractor .Anyhow there were three balloons so we had to help with one of them to get it ready once the balloon was inflated we got into a large basket there must have been about 12 bods got in then slowly we started to raise .It was breaking daylightas we got to a few hundred feet .Standing next to was a Japanese couple .Anyhow the flight took us over the desert and a it got lighter you could see the odd wild life .The flight lasted about 2 hours then we landed with a slight bump .After we got out of the basket theyb served us a champagne breakfast i really enjoyed it the cost 175 dollars aussie

Very popular here Lou, mainly spring and Autumn when the air is still, over Melbourne there could be a dozen or so at day break, quite a sight to behold. But yes mate you can easily freeze to death in the dessert at night, often goes well below zero.

Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.
