New member
Hello - I'm new to the forum. I mainly want to use it to assist me with my family history research. I'm looking for information on an ancestor who's service number I have, and also the name of the vessel he was serving on when he was killed as a result of enemy action in 1941. Any help would be gratefully received!

Re: New member
Considering that the MN had approx 195,000 serving members in 1941, it always surprises me (or is that, disappoints me) that a great number of people come on the site and say did you know, my dad, my grandad, my uncle, my second cousin's nieces nephew etc and never give a name, or DOB, or any information that my help our 'volunteer' researchers. Just an observation.

Re: New member
I think our researchers need a medal, they spend a huge amount of their time doing this. I think its great when they get some feedback, which must give them a lift. kt

Re: New member
We have over the years had a number of members who have offered their services in researching info for new members and their families.
But the most consistent is no doubt the 'Doc' our very own Vernon.
There is at times costs involved with some research but have never heard him ask for any revenue to assist with his searching.
Truly a bloody good guy.
