Stories please
Hello,
My name is Sylvia Grinham. My husband Stan ( Stanley Gordon Grinham) died in July of several illnesses in Critical Care.
He was in the Merchant Navy from age 15 in 1961 until 1979. He was also known as Goolie.
He was friends with Roger Aves. Who was also known as doughnut.
He was with the New Zealand Shipping Company a lot travelling from Australia/New Zealand to Japan.
I cannot remember all the ships he was on.But if anyone remembers him or knew him I would love to hear any stories you have to tell. Even the naughty ones! He was a naughty boy! He stole a car belonging to a higher up in Sidney with his friend and was deported as a Distressed British Seaman along with his friend as A.B's on board The Devon in 1967.
Thank you.
