I sailed on Hinakura ,Rangatani, Westmorland,Middlesex,Piako on a treble header,double header, Tekoa, Turakina, plus working by at times. 1964 to 1974.
Joined Sealink @ Stranraer 1974 to 1990 then Caledonian McBrayne until retirement.

When I sailed on Piako she had a black hull the funnel had the Federal flag .
That was before P&O general cargo take over.

Did you ever come across Bob Bashford when sailing in CalMac. He was from Arran and I shared a flat with him when we were both doing 2nd Mates in Shields in the 70's?
