My grandad
Hi my names Julie. I have my grandad's discharge book which is a renewal book as the original went down on the 'Veronese' which was shipwrecked. He also did many trips on the 'Lusitania', his last one being in Feb/Mar 1915. Looking forward to learning about his life at sea.
Thanks
Julie

Re: My grandad
Welcome to the site, Julie. You've certainly come to the right place. There's a great bunch of lads here and I'm sure if you include your granddad's discharge book number and his name, they'll do everything they can to get you more information about your granddad's life at sea.
Cheers,
Jacyn

Re: My grandad
Julie, if you have your grandad's Discharge Book it will have some names of ships in and the dates he joined and left, unless of course he never got chance to use it. The more information you can give us the more we can help you. When did your Grandad die and what was his age when he passed away to his next voyage. Every little helps

Re: My grandad
The 'Veronese' was lost in 1913, would imagine a fair few ships in between then and the Luci etc. K

Re: My grandad
Yes I too hope that Julie will look in, as so far no more from her on our Post replies!
No disrespect meant here ,but hope that she is not another fly by nighter !
Really gets my Goat the people who post for help and just never show up again!
As said Julie this is not meant as any kind of Umbridge towards you in person!
Cheers
PS I realise that some may have their reasons for not replying, but would be nice if they could just say why!
Most all of the Lads here do try and help where they can,and some take a lot more time in getting to the answers, although we do like to assist and search for types of assistance, its seems sometimes a waste of good time on some!
Again this is not pointed at you Julie, just so others will read and understand, how frustrating it can get for us all here at times!
Thank You and sorry for the spiel!

Re: My grandad
#8 Give her chance Doc, it was only yesterday, we don't know her circumstances, she may be working away, or maybe on night shifts, or caring for somebody, maybe no immediate access to a computer, we have had people respond after a few days due to unforeseen circumstances, but others not show up at all, but let's give the lass a chance, but we know where you're coming from
