I bet we had the same girlfriend and not known it

Had a girl[stripper] from the Texas bar in BA.
We became very close. She even followed the ship to La Platta.
She started talking about me taking her back to England.
Carla[said stripper] had learnt her English from seaman.

She once asked me if my f**##@@ng mother would like her.
I had this vision of her meeting my mam who was very religious,and coming out with a mouth full.
Would have been kinda funny, but thankfully never happened.

Few days before we sailed I was of course broke.
She gave me some $$ and said we would meet next day to go to the movies.
Most of my mates were also broke, so instead of meeting her, I took them out to a bar.

Never saw her again, but a mate of mine did the following trip. She hit him with a bottle just for being a pal of mine.
Some people just can't take a joke. Year or two later, I was again in BA. Got as far as her flat and chickened out. Also had to stay away from the Texas bar.

But somehow she heard I was aboard and sent a note stating that 'I wait for you in zee bed. Even that enticement didn't give me courage. Chicken s##t.

Well never did have a bad time with any of the girls as the saying was? For every one you knock back is one you will never get back. What I loved about the colonial girls was that they where also living life to the full as we where all practicing free spirits and be damned with the rules. The only problems we had was some old men did not have a good sense of humour and would go out of their way to punish us financially but that did not even stop us. Do recall the girls in Valporaso saying that the Yanks give them dollars the Swedes ply them with spirits and we would come ashore and expect them to pay for our drinks and let us have our way with them for nothing. Never could see any problem with that set up. All I know is for those on deck had it made when it came to parties because as I said we made our own rules. Hope that the girls also have many fond memories of those great days. Condoms? What are they? We lived dagerously and if we got caught would have ended up being a good looking corpse. Maybe I did not live it hard enough or I am to bloody ugly for the later.

They wernt condoms mate they were more like bloody fenders over the ships side, They could save your life alright if you were lucky enough to have a few on you and went over the side more like bloody liferafts. The few ladies i met on the West Coast of Africa. Never a condom more like 20 state express either side for a bit o packing like throwing a sausage up the working ally way Happy days lads Terry.:D:D

Could you imagine this crew here today doing one more trip. Walking into Happy Valley on the razzle. The first thing we would need would be a comfy bus to get us all down there it was a walk :p After some of the drinking sessions we had we would all fall asleep before any action kicked off thats if we could find a post office to fund our trip most of this crew couldnt raise an alarm these days:p Memories!!!!
